Librarian and mystery lover Shelby Goddard will host the monthly Who Dun It? Book club from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on October 21.

Participants will discuss “The Broken Girls” by Simone St. James, a chilling novel about a journalist who uncovers the dark secrets of an abandoned Vermont boarding school.

BOOK SALE: The Friends of the New Orleans Public Library will be hosting their annual Truly Oldest Book Sale on October 16 on the front porch of the Milton H. Latter Library on St. Charles Avenue. The fundraising event begins for Friends members at 10 a.m. and the general public is welcome from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The sale will feature hundreds of out-of-print and signed original editions, rare old books and precious treasures from your childhood. Prizes start at $ 1 and all proceeds will go to the 2022 Summer Reading and Entertainment Program at the New Orleans Public Library.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS: The New Orleans Public Library partnered with BreakOUT to present Get Yr Rights, a youth rights training course, on October 16. The workshop will be held on Zoom from noon to 2:30 p.m.

Participants will learn tools to stay safe when dealing with law enforcement.
