Sandman Season 2 Apparently Confirmed By Now-Deleted Tweet


In a now-deleted tweet from DC Comics on Twitter, the second season of Netflix’s hit Sandman adaptation has seemingly been confirmed.

After months of waiting, The sand man may have finally been renewed for a second season.

One Take News on Twitter has shared a screenshot from DC’s official account which appears to confirm the return of the Netflix adaptation of the hit comic book series. “The dream continues,” read the original tweet. “The sand man will return with new episodes based on multiple volumes of Neil Gaiman’s graphic novels to explore even more stories from Infinity.”

The 10 episodes of season 1 of The sand man dropped August 5 on Netflix. The adaptation quickly became one of the streamer’s biggest shows, and fans quickly began to rally for a second season of Sand seller. Gaiman, however, has spent the past few months warning fans that just because the series has gone well doesn’t mean a renewal isn’t guaranteed.

The Sandman Season 2 Was Never A Sure Thing

The sand man is based on the DC/Vertigo graphic novel series created by Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg published between 1989 and 1996. The story consisted of 75 issues and became a cult hit thanks to its themes and art. Gaiman and others spent years trying to adapt the comics for the big and small screen before a deal with Netflix was finally struck for the 10-episode first season.

On August 19, Netflix surprised fans of the series by releasing a bonus episode featuring the animated story “A Dream of a Thousand Cats” and the “Calliope,” inspired by classic numbers from the original.
