Calling all book lovers to participate in a fundraiser for the sale of books in Rosemount.
Jo Gilbertson, president of the Friends of Robert Trail Library, invites the public to come and view the huge collection of books during the six-day book sale.
This fundraiser takes place October 18-23 in the Rosemount Robert Trail Library Community Hall. Proceeds will be used to meet the programming needs of public libraries at this eleventh year event.
Friends of Robert Trail Library is a growing organization of community members whose mission is to share enthusiasm for literacy and lifelong learning by improving library services and resources.
âWe haven’t had a sale since April 2019 and we have two and a half years of donated books to buy, and we normally don’t have a fall sale,â Gilbertson said. The group has not been able to offer the community a book sale since April 2019 due to the pandemic.
Friends of the Robert Trail Library volunteers have not been able to organize meet-and-greet events or give away fun book giveaways over the past year and a half, as have many non-profit organizations. lucrative across the state.
Boasting over 300 members on its mailing list, the group has been somewhat fluid in recent months with 25 paying members today who will work together and volunteer to make this year’s fundraising event a success.
âIt’s kind of a slow motion to get back on track by providing books to people,â Gilbertson said.
Aiming to give better access to book lovers, Gilbertson believes that this sale may give the metro senior residences the opportunity to come and store internal libraries in senior residences.
Friends of the Robert Trail Library believe the community is blessed to see that each book sale brings in higher totals and that the last fundraiser brought in $ 7,500.
âWe hope to harvest more and look forward to breaking that record this year,â said Gilbertson.
